Campaign Story

A brief note – this website is under development as we will be transitioning to a new website hopefully by Spring 2026. Please excuse its sparseness. Our work has been delayed due to the health of our founder, but is starting to move forward once again.

Part of our church bylaws states that we offer sanctuary to animals that come onto our grounds and last winter both Voidburger and Fudge Stripes came onto our property during some of the coldest months. After feeding them outside, with a dangerous cold snap approaching, they were brought indoors and though Void was very happy to tame down and be a pampered indoor kitty, Fudge Stripes took a full eight months to allow me to pet him, which I consider tame enough for neutering. We are now fundraising to neuter through our wonderful vet and get both boys up to date on their shots so they can be fully integrated into our sanctuary.

The Aikyam Oak Sanctuary is an initiative of Aikyam Society, Inc, a 501c(3) religious nonprofit/ecospiritual pagan church. Your donation may be tax deductible.

The Kitties

I do not know anything about these two boys, except both are intact and showed up here last winter. They could have been dumped pets, or traveled from another farm/location. (No one on our gravel road has cats, so they did not come locally.) Both cats are now indoors and will be treasured members of the sanctuary for the rest of their lives.

About Aikyam Oak Sanctuary

Aikyam Oak Sanctuary is an initiative of Aikyam Society, Inc., a 501c(3) religious nonprofit/ecospiritual pagan church. We do not take in animals except those which find their way to our property. Currently the sanctuary is home to 17 cats, 2 pigs (one of which was a stray), and 5 horses which were rescues at some point in their lives. The sanctuary also houses our flock of chickens which we use for our Egg Ministry, where we offer eggs to those in need.

The sanctuary is defined in the church’s bylaws as it is our sacred duty to care for the flora and fauna on this land, and is an outgrowth of our ecospirituality.
